REHABILITACION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Casa de Luz y Esperanza, House of Light and Hope, is a center for children with special needs. The Center offers physical therapy, speech therapy, special education, psychological support, and occupational therapy. In the future we will offer water therapy, a hot lunch program, and temporary shelter. The latter is for those families with limited resources who come in from the rural areas for rehabilitation services. One of the characteristics of House of Light and Hope is that it works hand in hand with the families in the rehabilitation of their child into the community.

PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
Senior citizens are an important part of our Center. We offer them health care, physical therapy, hot lunch program, food coop., home visits, and social-legal aid and the opportunity to learn new crafts. The Senior Citizen who participate in the program know they are valued and accepted for who they are.

 DETAILS OF THE PROJECT

Centro Salud Integral is a non-profit social work of the Catholic Church.  One of the three centers is Casa Luz y Esperanza, a center of rehabilitation for children and adolscents who have intelectual, motor and/or sensorial disabilities.  The center offers physical therapy, special education, occupatinal therapy and language skills.

The building itself is very old and we are fixing it up little by little when when we have the money.  What  we most need are a cabinets  to store toys and educational games.  Right now they are out in the open and it is easy to lose ítems or mix them.

Because the building is old and somewhat humid, it is necessary to cover the floors with rugs.  The rugs in use, are quite threadbare and need to be replaced.

A computer and printer are also necessary.  We only have one and it is rather old.  The final request is for material for stimulating motor and sensorial control  which will help the children develop better skills.

We have two price estimates for each ítem, all of which will help improve the services and attention we offer to these children and youth with special needs.  If we have your approval for this project,  we would like to buy everything the same day, send you photos and the exact prices of the purchases along with the receipts.   We have already shown this project to Jaime Flores and the San Jorge Rotary Club.  They think it is fine.

We are so grateful for generosity and we invite you to come visit us if you ever have the opportunity.  We will also be giving a report to the San Jorge Club who will guarantee the  execution of this Project.
