Keith Prince
District 5030 Rotarian of the Year
Left to right, Holly, Robert Oser (Rotaract), Devon Hay (Rotaract president-elect), Carolyn Prince, Keith, Ann Liberato (District 5030 governor), and Hunter Phillips (Rotaract vp)

Exciting new from the District Conference!  Keith Prince was awarded the District 5030 Rotarian of the Year for his dedicated work mentoring the UWHS Rotaract club for the past 8 years.  We can all agree this is a well deserved honor for Keith.  Keith was asked to take on the role to organize and advise a new Rotaract club at UW by then club president (2004-05), Hal Beals.  Keith was nominated for this prestigious district award by the current president of the Seattle International District club, Susan Beals!  Congratulations Keith.  And thank you Hal and Susan for recognizing a great leader!  - Ron Esperitu

Our club repeated last year's very successful and fun wine tasting event. Thanks to Chair Chelan Shero, all who contributed and help with the organization, the generous wineries, and everyone who attended!

New Report From Ajmal
January, 2012.

Ajmal Kohi
District 5030's Ambassadorial Scholar in St. Petersberg, Russia

sponsored by University Sunrise Rotary

Ajmal, in addition to his  Russian  studies, has been very active with Rotary organizations. He volunteered to hold English language classes as a fundraiser for a local Rotaract Club. The Rotaract Club Saint Petersburg International collected enough donations through his  English lessons project to buy Christmas gifts for kids at the local children's hospital who could not celebrate at home.
